Optimal health and wellness includes the ability to continuously learn and grow from new experiences. When human beings stop having new experiences, stagnation, illness and even death can occur. 

 

Signs of Optimal Health & Wellness

Indicators of thriving: 

  • A desire for continued learning and growth
  • Willingness to try new things and have new experiences
  • Ability to consider new opportunities
  • Ability to listen to a variety of input and suggestions
  • Ability to solve problems creatively

Warning Signs

Indicators of warning:

  • New ideas are discouraged
  • Status quo is maintained at all costs
  • Lack of growth and vitality
  • Follow the pack without question
  • Illness and depression are present
  • Addictions to substances or harmful behaviors or patterns are present

SELF EVALUATION

When warning signs are present, it may be time to be intentional about exploring new opportunities. Actively play the role “devil’s advocate” when deciding whether or not to do something.

  • Seek out and try new things
  • Try to learn something new each day
  • Seek out and explore how others live and solve problems

GET SUPPORT

Intervention should be sought when feelings of stagnation are present, along with a lack in motivation to change.
